PSA: Being kind is one of the best things you can be.
My two cents about kindness.
Long story short, for the most part there’s very few situations in life that are not made better by you being kind. For just about every interaction and relationship that you have at work and in life, it really is a big deal.
If you’re going to be proud of anything about yourself, shoot for being proud of how kind you are. It costs nothing and it benefits everyone — including and especially you.
A reality about life:
It’s hard AF. The world is tough and heavy at times. Navigating other humans, and work can be a lot. Being kind unlocks a lot of doors in yourself and others, especially when things get tough. It’s incredibly important in preserving your sanity and uplifting you and the people around you.
And directing kindness towards yourself also matters. You’re not perfect, you never will be. Let yourself off the hook. Having a kinder disposition overall means you will automatically enjoy life more and see more of the good in it.
A little homework for the week.
The next time this week you’re in a mood or having a negative moment with yourself, or with someone else, catch yourself and take a beat. Ask yourself, “What is the kindest thing I can do for myself, or say or do for this person in the moment?”
See if you can get five of those ‘catching yourself’ moments in this week. Rock on, go be awesome.
