Do the people around you feel celebrated?

This #CultureDrop is a quick hit, so let me cut to the chase: Make your employees feel celebrated.

For you as a company, leader, coworker, partner, or friend to simply ask yourself "Do I make people feel celebrated?" and use that as a compass for how to treat people, that's a win.

And don't just ponder it, take action.

Some Homework

Whether or not you think your employees (and anyone else in your life that you care about) feel celebrated by you, an idea you can immediately take action around is to show them. Write a thoughtful letter or note or even a text of thanks to a few folks you appreciate. Acknowledge them and how they show up for you.

Additionally, write down three or four ways you can show your thanks to them, or get some inspiration from the internet. A quick search of “How can you make people feel celebrated” will probably turn up a bunch of cool, simple ideas.

It’s always lovely to be on the receiving end of some gratitude and to feel appreciated and noticed for how you contribute to someone else in a positive way.

Find little ways to make this an ongoing practice of showing gratitude towards your team and people in your life. Revisit on a monthly or every other monthly basis. It doesn’t have to something huge and remarkable, even a quick, heartfelt text can make someone’s day.

Doing this is good for morale and healthier, stronger relationships. It doesn’t matter if it’s work or personal, it’s a great idea to be intentional and take action around.

Final Thoughts

Showing gratitude to the people in your life —whether it be a family member, partner, co-worker, an employee, or a friend— is a simple thing to do that can make a huge, positive impact on other people. Let the folks you care about know that you appreciate how they show up in your life.
